Hey buddy!!!! r u sure u bought a car ?? That sounds like a nightmare...I'm sorry for hearing all that. I'm from europe. I bought a R32 3 years ago and never had any problem. Then I moved to the US and bought a 2001 jetta. And apart of the wrong maintenance of the previous owner, the car runs well. My experience is pretty good.
Good luck with every thing and if not, then there's an easy solution. Get a different car...trade it.

i ran out of room lol, it has also had a leaky sunroof and the radio turns down by itself, changes songs on cds before they r done and the radio also mutes itself occasionally, iv made sure that it wasnt me doin it on the steering wheel, has anyone else had this many problems with their gti? if i didnt live 2 hours from the dealer it wouldnt be that big of a deal but it is cuz it turns into a whole day adventure, i sold my mazda6 to get this and i went from the best car iv had to the worst |

P O S. the 2 months iv owned it it has been in the shop almost 4 weeks, going around turns occasionally where it turns on the breaks or xds kicks in or something, it did it on an offramp and i was only goin 5 mph over and when i went to press on the breaks the pedal was solid, it scared me a little but luckily i wasnt goin fast, it has been to dealer 2 times over this and they hav only fixed sunroof but nothing else has been fixed, if anyone knows anything about this problem please let me kno |

VW has dropped their build quality and that is not just here, it is the same story in Europe! VW has gone in a wrong path, just like Mercedes.
