I actually might have bought one if it had the concept front-end, the one it ended up with is way to basic, the car lost is wow factor without this feature! Who's making the decisions over there? |

I wouldnt consider buying the 1.4 petrol, it's the same as the golf, so the 2.0 petrol was the way to go :) and that one is indeed expensive to run, i'm with you regarding petrol for fun, that's why i have a r5 gt turbo and a honda s2000 ap1, the honda was my main car until now, but it's just too damn expensive to run on a daily base, that's why going for the 2.0 tdi scirocco. |

big engine? 98 octane?
we are talking about a a VW scirocco, not a ferrari. 95octane will do.
Over here (germany) u save about 1000euro over 50.000km or 3000euro over 100.000km by choosing the 2.0l diesel instead of the 2.0l petrol.
And if u compare the 2l diesel to the 1.4l petrol, petrol is cheaper for the first 120.000km (!).
In my experience petrol engines are just so much more fun to drive. (and much more pleasant to the ear) |

I intend to buy a scirocco 2.0 tdi, it's almost impossible to drive big engine sport cars on 98 octanes gas in Portugal, wich cost 1,5€ per liter, imagine buying gas at 4,5 USD the gallon, he he he. |

Why design a sexy coupe and then put a diesel engine in it? (Alfa Romeo has done the same shit.)
Are some people actually stupid enough to buy diesel coupes? |
